Phil Campbell holds two advanced degrees and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. His list of credentials is impressive: MS, MA, ACSM-CPT, FACHE and Certified, American College of Sports Medicine CPT. He draws on his advanced training in Health Services, experience in training over 12,000 athletes in speed and strength, and his over 35 years of experience in the development of Ready, Set, Go! Synergy Fitness.

Phil has spent over 20 years in hospital administration, including several years as the Division President with eight hospitals under his management. He was responsible for taking the medical disciplines of surgery, pathology, radiology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, physical therapy, pharmacology and other disciplines and operationalizing these varying specialties into a comprehensive healthcare delivery system to improve people's lives. He takes this same approach in presenting information to his readers.

He's very talented in simplifying complex medical subjects to present his readers with "street level applied science". Step-by-step he outlines how to improve fitness, increase energy, lose, cut and tone most efficiently. Phil Campbell wrote his first training manual over 30 years ago. During college, he managed health clubs and was a personal trainer, years before we called it personal training.

As a masters athlete, Phil Campbell holds several USA Track and Field Masters titles including first place in the 100-meter sprint, Southeastern US Championships for his age group in 2000. In 2003, he won the 200-meter sprint and the discus throw, placed second in the 100 meters and set the meet record in the javelin during the USA Masters Track & Field Tennessee Championships. Nationally, he has placed third in the USA Track and Field Masters Nationals in his age group in the Javelin and fifth in discus. In his late 40s he won a 40-yard dash competition in 4.69 seconds. He teaches athletes how to improve speed, agility and quickness at his speed camps held across the US. He holds a black belt in Isshinryu Karate and has competed and won first place in martial arts and weightlifting competitions. Suffice it to say he "walks the talk".

He is deeply inspired to help improve the health of as many people as possible. Mainstream biomedical research forms the basis for all of Phil Campbell's writing. He cites over 200 research studies in his book Ready, Set, Go! Synergy Fitness.
